Rivers APC Chieftain Prophesies ‘Imminent Collapse of Tinubu, Wike Alliance’

By Godwin Chukwumaechi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has prophesied that the alliance between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike will collapse before the end 2024.

In a statement in Port Harcourt on Monday Chief Eze who described the alliance as “unholy romance” said the political alliance clearly contravenes every recognized standards of sound politicking, founded on immorality and grossly distorts the ethical contents of politics and political liberalism.

Speaking on the appointment of undeserving persons from Rivers State into ministries and boards, he said the reward system has been disproportionately tilted against qualified and deserving members of the Rivers APC who committed time and materials to calm the hydra-headed intra-party rivalry and instill stability in the face of very stiff and ambitious opposition and snooping saboteurs who connived in vain to whittle down the political influence and electoral value of the party in the state in the build-up to the elections.

He alleged that the actions of the President which clearly adds legitimacy to the brewing trend of political harlotry has heightened growing concerns of infidelity and other unsavory practices among players in the political playground.

He stressed that such dishonest indulgence with the ill-advised patronage from Mr. President portends grave danger to the future of politics and political leadership in the country if not checked, hinting that the Nigerian political system was grossly unregulated in practical terms.

According to Chief Eze; “despite the floodgate of laws, the mechanisms for enforcement and moribund institutions taunted by very corrupt and highly placed individuals have constituted themselves into a clog on the wheel of the country’s political progress so much so that 25 years after return to civil rule, our democracy has remained stunted in its nascency”.

He lamented that it was unfortunate to watch the sad reality of the continued decimation and stifling of those who sacrificed their lives to set up APC in Rivers State while those in PDP and avowed enemies of the progressive family in Rivers State were being empowered by Tinubu, the leader of an APC led Federal Government.

Chief Eze explained; “Former Governor Wike fought tirelessly to frustrate Rivers APC and the lives of some members were lost in the process but today, the same character who derided, maimed, killed and even insulted Tinubu has been rewarded and appointed a minister by an APC-led Federal Government and further given power to nominate those who sided him to destroy APC in Rivers State into agencies and boards.

“Wike has so far nominated and ensured appointment of the following APC none members into Federal Government agencies – Frank Owhor into the North East Development Commission while his allies Mr. Boma Iyaye and Chief Tony Okocha are appointed as Director of Finance and Administration and Board member respectively of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

“As Nigerians continue to look out for more empowerment of men of low pedigree, non-progressives and pundits of sabotage from Rivers State into Federal Government boards,” Eze said, adding that he remains optimistic and “very convinced that the core and trustworthy APC members will rally round each other to ensure the plot to destroy APC in Rivers State will not see the light of day notwithstanding the odds”.

Chief Eze wished Tinubu the best of luck in the path he has chosen, the APC chief and assured that his unholy marriage with Wike will not last till the end of 2024.

“If Wike can today turn against Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi his benefactor who appointed him his chief of staff when he was the governor of Rivers State and later nominated him minister, one then wonders the depth of Wike’s relationship with Tinubu that he will not stab him at the back.”

“If he could discard Senator Magnus Abe who he used like a misguided leader to truncate the fortunes of Rivers State APC then Tinubu should wait and see what happens by 2024.”

“What he did to Atiku whom he once described as the leader of leaders is still a matter of discuss in some high places in this country and abroad.” he declared.
