Right to Reply: Rantings of Impious Lucky Tubotu and Co-Laborers from Bilabiri Communities

By Jones Abiri

I was surprised to read statements attributed to one Mr. Lucky Tubotu in several online newspapers, claiming to be a member of the Bilabiri 1 and 2 communities, despite his lack of a visibly known identity in the area. I can only characterize his statements as the desperate ranting of a “drowning man” against Darlon Oil and Gas Limited and its Chief Executive Officer, His Excellency, Chief David Lyon, the undisputed 2019 Governor-elect of Bayelsa State.

Mr. Lucky Tubotu has provided the unsuspecting public with deliberate falsehoods and poisoned fictions that diminish both himself and his associates from these communities. Therefore, I commence my response by inviting and challenging Mr. Tubotu to present his alleged “overwhelming evidence” to the law enforcement agencies.

No Nigerian, whether in public or private, is above the law. His Excellency, Chief David Lyon, believes that the institutions of state for administering justice can only be strengthened if used by concerned citizens, rather than resorting to cowardly media terrorism.

If Mr. Tubotu is to be believed, the Governor-elect, Chief David Lyon, is allegedly arming militants and terrorizing the Bilabiri communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. In that case, Mr. Tubotu should submit his evidence to the authorities or be condemned as a contemptible individual engaging in vile propaganda.

Although Mr. Tubotu and his cohort are aware that their claims do not resonate with the sentiments of Bayelsans and beyond, these iconoclasts are determined to execute a paid agenda. It does not take a soothsayer to discern that this plot bears the hallmarks of a coalition of political and social opportunists, whose popularity is waning against the towering reputation of Darlon Oil and Gas Limited and its Chief Executive Officer in the nation’s political landscape.

One may be tempted to ask, who are those purported militants that was armed by Darlon Oil and Gas limited? Is Bilabiri 1 and 2 communities fall within the operational area of Darlon Oil and Gas limited? If it was, who are the current beneficiaries from the company? What was their motive behind the scene of this dastardly act whom Lucky Tubotu and his co-travelers intending to dent the good reputation of His Excellency?

At the head of this coalition, is an expired political leader whose frustration stem’s Chief David Lyon’s refusal to unstring his life to be used for pecuniary gains. The handwriting of these tossed and frustrated men that are behind the scene in writing frivolous statement against His Excellency because of their desperateness to take the job away from Darlon Oil and Gas limited by all means is not an hiding issue in Bayelsa and Nigeria at large.

Curiously, however they have failed to notice that the band of freelance politicians and social youths who have joined them as willing tools, chorusing and believing that, Bilabiri crisis was caused by Darlon Oil and Gas limited which has no single atom of truth in such planned and orchestrated character assassination against such a liberal and self devoted humanitarian in touching lives without borders is something no right thinking individual should thought of in the state, these elements are controlled by the spirit of Janus, the double -faced Roman god.

If the truth must be told: His Excellency, Chief David Lyon can’t condensed himself low by virtue of upbringing as a child and his liberal life which is visibly seen by every Tom Dick and Arie knows to ignite such crisis in communities that will not improve his calling to serve mankind on earth.

On what pleasure will he derived from crisis or rather makes him prosperous life? They need to be told that it is God Almighty in heaven that crowns him (David) at this level he is and not those scheming and leaping political spent force in the state. That is why, their plot has doomed for outright failure.

Such a litany of falsehood from Lucky Tubotu and his unseen hands alone is benumbing. It is commonly acknowledged that those who aspire to lead must first recognise the goodness in themselves as a springboard to spread the goodwill to others. Any aspiring leadership that fails to see the good in others must have evil lurking in his intentions. This trend of evil machination of these politicians and community self acclaimed leaders who are non-starters must be seen entirely for what it is worth-ill mind, period.

As a citizen, I have the right to respond to such ill-motivated, poorly planned and executed media orchestrated campaign against His Excellency, Chief David Lyon by his detractors. This act of pull him down syndrome has manifest the evil thought toward his good work through the inspiration from God he had to touch lives without borders can’t succeed by them.

What else would they plan again for what their failed attempts which they lost previously just resurfacing to dent his rising profile? Mr. Lucky Tubotu of Bilabiri community and his co-passengers should be stopped forthwith because the economic and security interest of Nigeria far outweigh the interest of any individual or group that masquerading as leaders and supporters that should remember the day of reckoning, as the saying goes “what you sow is what you ripe”.

Some terminal sickness in life as a result of evil vices they nurtured against their perceived innocent people that led to where they are now. Such malicious attempt to cast aspersion should be avoided with His Excellency, Chief David Lyon and Darlon Oil and Gas limited which they have no direct bearing with the purported crisis in Bilabiri 1 and 2 communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

They should shop for others who are known in causing problems in those areas to be leaders. It is only an insane individual that can believe such evil being perpetrated by Lucky Tubotu and his fenced hand in pursuance of narrow economic interest in our current economic situation in the country, Nigeria.

“A stitch in time they say saved nine”.
