Prosperity Cup: Movers FC, Police Machine, Bayelsa United Feeders, Two Others Record Wins

Movers FC of Otuasega and Anyama FC of Ogbia on Tuesday continued their dominant display in the ongoing Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament tagged the Prosperity Cup with impressive victories in their designated centers. 

Movers FC of Otuasega at the Kolo center humbled Abureni FC 2-0 after a goalless first half of hostility. Samuel Otavie put the former Ogbia champions ahead on 64 minute to send the jubilant Otuasega fans into celebration.

Movers FC talisman, Elton Mina on 71 minute added salt to the injuries of Abureni FC having conceded on 64 minute from Samuel Otavie’s beautiful finish.

At the Otuokpoti center, Azibapu Vincent’s lone goal on 39 minute was all 2022 semi finalists Anyama FC needed to advance to the next phase of the spectacle. Anyama FC beat Hummels Stars FC 1-0 in an encounter that witnessed a massive turnout of spectators.

Oruma FC at the Otuasega center whitewashed Jerry FC 4-1, a brace from Lemanya Gospel on 2 and 83 minutes as well as Musa Onita, Peter Inetimi 10 and 82  minutes respectively and Godgift Pumpum 62 minute consolation goal ensured that Oruma FC progress to the next round of the tournament.

Police Machine FC in the other fixture at Otuasega center pipped Otuokpoti FC 1-0 with Samuel Kenere scoring the only goal on 9 minute. Ten men Otuoke FC overpowered stubborn New Mercy City Boys to secure a slim victory at the Otuokpoti center.

Apiri Joshua’s 63 minute goal defined the tie for Otuoke FC despite the numerical disadvantage as the goalkeeper of the side, Iwani Saveme was shown a straight red for handling the ball outside the eighteen yard box on 74 minutes.

Onuebum FC at the Kolo center beat Federal University Otuoke FC 1-0. Bello Bello’s 34th minute goal ensured that the Federal University, Otuoke FC returned to their classes empty handed.

Elsewhere at the CSS Ebedebiri center in Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa United Feeders FC took Kumbowei FC to the cleaners with a 2-0 victory. Goals from Nathaniel Ojibare as well as an own goal from the opponent sealed Bayelsa United Feeders FC progress.

Action will return on Thursday at the Ogbia center in the ongoing Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament christened the Prosperity Cup.
