A popular youth leader and advocate of peace in Unenurhie community, Mr. Princewill Ovwighose, recently donated branded notebooks to pupils of Unenurhie Primary School, Unenurhie in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The donation, our correspondent said, was to support the students in their learning careers.
Making the donation, during the school’s inter-house sports competition held on 28th March, 2025 at the school premises, Mr. Ovwighose advised pupils to make good use of the notebooks as he promised to do more for them in the next academic year.
Hear him: “I’m glad today as a young man to be made a house patron of Blue House in this sports competition. My little support to donate these branded notebooks to the school pupils is to help them in their learning careers. I want to commend the house mistress of Blue House and the pupils in the house for their wonderful performances in the sports competition. Even though they couldn’t take the first position, I know very well that they will grab that position by next year. I’m indeed proud of them today.”
Mr. Ovwighose however promised the school authority to do more in subsequent editions of the inter-house sports competition to boost the extra curricular activities of the school.
In her response, the headteacher of the school, Mrs. Stella Ogilo commended the donor, Mr. Princewill Ovwighose for the kind gesture despite the economic instability in the country at the moment saying,
“I must commend the donor, Mr. Princewill Ovwighose for this kind gesture. As a young man, he has the interest of the school pupils in his heart. This prompted him first to accept our invitation to be a patron to one of the houses in the inter-house sports competition. He didn’t reject our invitation. Secondly, to encourage the children in their learning careers, he gladly donated branded notebooks to them. The young man has really established his name in gold. This is what we expected our youths to do in modern times. Once again, we are glad and appreciate him for this great support.” She said.
Also speaking, the new president-general of Unenurhie community, Mr. Williams Ilayah when he got the news of what Mr. Princewill Ovwighose did to the school children, he also sent words of acknowledgement for the kind gesture. The president-general who was over excited over the generous act, advised all Unenurhie youths to emulate the works of Mr. Ovwighose and to also take education very serious, as he described education as the bedrock of development in the community.
