A popular Nigerian Cleric and General Overseer of Christ the Life Bible International Church (CLBIC), Prophet E. S. Okenna has narrated how he escaped being burnt in the tanker explosion which killed five persons and burnt 120 vehicles in Rivers State two months ago.

Prophet Okenna narrated his experience while speaking at a 3-Day Crusade titled: “A Name Above Other Names,” held at the Port Harcourt branch of his church, Christ the Life Bible International Church (CLBIC), in Oroworukwo Community, Port Harcourt City local government area.

He spoke while delivering a message titled; “Serving God in the Spirit”, taking his text from John 4:24, where he stressed the need for Christians to worship God with all commitment and dedication.

“The Bible said, they that worship him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. For you to fail or excel in life, it must start spiritually.”

Okenna was one of the persons who could have been burnt to death alongside his Personal Assistant in the tanker explosion that occurred close to a fertilizer producing firm, INDORAMA, along the Petrochemical axis of the East West road in Eleme LGA, Rivers State.

The fuel-laden tanker reportedly caught fire shortly after it was said to have had a partial collision with another car, but miraculously, he and his Personal Assistant (PA) escaped unhurt with their vehicle while five persons including a pregnant woman and no fewer than 120 cars were burnt to ashes.

Sharing his near-death experience with the mammoth crowd that attended the programme on Saturday, Prophet Okenna said, “God has never abandoned anyone who serve or worship Him in spirit and in truth, with all commitment and dedication.”

He said, “I could have been dead two months ago, I and my PA could have been counted among victims of the tanker explosion at Eleme where so many cars were burnt and people died.

“This testimony was nothing more than God’s divine intervention. We went to Eleme for a family deliverance and we were returning to Port Harcourt when we met the traffic. The Spirit of God ministered to me that there was danger, So, I told my PA who was driving the car to do anything he can to get out of the traffic. By this time, we were directly behind the truck that caught fire. The moment we overtook the truck through a very tight corner, the explosion happened. If we had wasted the least of 3 minutes behind the tanker, we would have both died,” he said.

The Cleric however, returned all glory to God for saving his life, that of his aide and many others.
