Police Intensify Efforts to Arrest Fleeing Suspected Kidnappers

Operatives of Operation Puff Adder, Bayelsa State Police Command are intensifying efforts to arrest the unknown gunmen who kidnapped Dr Eleweremi Samuel in Yenagoa. 

It will be recalled that Dr Eleweremi Samuel was kidnapped at his residence at Captain Ayeni Street, Yenagoa, on 22 July, 2020, by unknown gunmen. 

According the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Bayelsa State command, SP Asinim Butswat, the operatives of the state Police command are on the trail of the kidnappers.

A suspect believed to be behind the kidnap was arrested on 2nd August, 2020 and he is now under interrogation in Police custody. It is believed that the arrest of this suspect mounted pressure on the hoodlums, forcing them to release the victim on 8 August, 2020.

Our correspondent gathered that the commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Mike Okoli, has debriefed the victim who has volunteered useful information that will assist the Police in the investigation.
