Police Arrest 20 Suspected Drug Dealers in Rivers

In line with the directive of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Emeka, to Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Departments and Tactical Commanders to conduct intelligence guided raids on drug-infested black spots within their Area of Responsibilities.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said Operatives attached to the Choba Division, on Tuesday 20th June, 2023, in synergy with other security outfits, raided a black spot and effected the arrest of the following persons: Lucky Amadi aged 42, Amarachi Okereke 29 year old, Christian Otu 27, Henry Obisike 24yrs, Glory Nwanike 29, Joseph Nwite 37year old, Collins Assor 26years , and Godwin Onyia 44 all of Rumuosi in Rivers State.

Others are Godspower Enyia 44years, Ekumere Worlu 20years, Duke Wonuigwe 30 years, Uche Oriji 25 years, Chika Jackson 30years all of the same address.

Similarly, one Gentle Wali 34years, Chinedu Nwangbo 38years, Solomon Erick Ihundah 16years all of Rumuekini, Bobmanuel of Choba, and Kelvin James of Ogbogoro have been raided at various locations within Rivers State.

According to the statement, Exhibits recovered from the suspects include drugs such as Cannabis, Crack, Tramadol, Codeine, Rohypnol, Aphrodisiacs, Skunk, Toy Gun and a Knife.

Preliminary Investigation is ongoing upon which conclusion the suspects will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
