Pillar of Freedom Ministry Holds 5th Anniversary

The Pillar of Freedom International Ministry over the weekend held her 5th anniversary in Port Harcourt, with the theme: ‘Uncommon Grace.’

General Overseer of the ministry, Prophet Chukwuemeka Okorie, a man of God under the discipleship of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, said uncommon grace is God’s unmerited favour and His goodness towards those who have no claim, nor reason, to expect any good, adding that grace therefore specializes in picking people from the valley to the top of the mountain.

Prophet Okorie advised the congragation not to allow their situation determine their life, pointing out that his life is a living testimony how uncommon grace catapulted him from the lowest background as the son of a poor widow, who barely had shoes on his feet to the general overseer of a fast growing Pentecostal church in Port Harcourt.

According to the prophet, “at the age of 14 I dabbled into shoe cobbling business without success, then served as an auto spare-parts apprentice, without being settled after serving whole-heartedly. I left the business and became homeless, resorted to sleeping under the Mile One flyover and the railway track along Diobu axis, where I was almost killed by a passing train while sleeping. If not for the mercy of God, through someone that pulled me out, life was so unbearable, I had to relocate to Benin City, ventured into hawking clothes, culminating in opening a boutique, but eventually handed it over to someone else through divine instruction.

He said that at this junction, God instructed him to serve Him earnestly, which he did by attending All Nations for Christ Bible Institute, 2004 and obtained Bachelor of Theology before serving in many great churches, such as the Church of God Mission, Christian Pentecostal Mission and others.

The prophet disclosed that in 2014, God specifically instructed him to relocate once again to Port Harcourt and start his own ministry which he obeyed without hesitation, adding that the ministry commenced with only 6 persons in his sitting room, moved to a canopy and eventually grew into a comfortable worship centre within 5 years.

Prophet Okorie disclosed that the reason his church is prospering is that he serves God whole heartedly with the mission to holistically transform men and liberate them from the shackles of the devil through the word of God.

The highpoint of the anniversary service was the ordination of Pastor Apeti Victor Mensah as apostle of God by the general overseer.

The minister of God present at the occasion include: Pastor Mrs Nkechi Okorie (G.O’s wife), Pastor Phanuel Ekeke, Pastor Mark James and Pastor Eze Nyesom Amadi.
