Peace Committee: Eze Gbakagbaka Calls for Increased Peace, Reconciliation Efforts in OBALGA

The chairman, Obio/ Akpor Peace And Reconciliation Committee, the Eze Oha Evo III of Evo Kingdom , Nyerisi Eli Woji (Eze Woji XII), Chairman, Supreme Council of Ikwerre Government Recognized Traditional Rulers Council HM King Leslie N Eke, Eze Gbakagbaka, has called on the people of the area and its residents to continue to push for peace and reconciliation moves, saying it is trite and the best way to go.

Eke said this at its first sitting of the year at the council’s secretariat in Rumuodomaya over the week.

He said there was no better way to bring unity among a people than to encourage harmonious living among them by way of preaching against unnecessary court litigations.

“We want our people to know that politics should not apply in all instances. The Council chairman, Amb Chijioke Ihunwo, in his wisdom, had created the Committee, it will be nice for the people to utilize it”, he said.

The Eze Woji, now the President of the Association of Christian Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (AOCTRON), further charged the people to consider the cost effect of taking their matters to the regular court and its attendant side effect and the need to make a u-turn.

He also noted that the Council chairman, Amb Chijoke Ihunwo must be appreciated for such excellent wisdom of initiating a program tailored towards peace and unity.

Our correspondent learnt that with Eze Gbakagbaka as the chairman of the committee, that positive results are expected given his consistency in Peace advocacy.

Meanwhile, he has appealed with members of the committee not to be weary in their efforts, but should always come up with ideas that will boost the Council chairman’s morale and as well, bring joy to people in the long run.
