The Patriotic Forum of Niger Delta (PAFOND), a socio-political organization in Nigeria, has “saluted the efforts of Senator Godswill Akpabio, Barr. Effiong Akwa and President Muhammadu Buhari at ensuring the timely completion of the corporate headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).”
The group in a statement by its national chairman, Comrade Owo Udoh, and made available by its national publicity secretary, Apostle John Amaowoh, in Port Harcourt, lauded efforts of other prominent Niger Delta sons and daughters at ensuring “every mechanism needed at the time of the construction was technically provided for,” adding that the peaceful disposition of youths in the region is highly commendable despite the challenge of unemployment and other social factors.
The group maintained that as a body it would continue to pursue peace and ensure the people of the region speak in one voice, stressing that the proposed training in ship-building for the people of the region was a step in the right direction “to ensure the minds of our youths are redirected and channel to more better things.”
The PAFOND national chairman further said that the group has collated names of “genuine members to be sent for the proposed NDDC ship training,” even as they called on members to avail themselves of the opportunity.
