Oyibokure Bags Ph.D from Delta University ‘with Flying Colours’

A respected lecturer in the Department of Political Science of the University of Delta, Agbor, Dr. Irorohwo Goodluck Oyibokure, has bagged a Ph.D in Political Science from the popular and prestigious Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka with flying colours.

Dr. Oyibokure who was among those presented with the Ph.D degree during the Delta State University’s 2024 Convocation ceremony, expressed gratitude to God for the academic feat he just attained despite many hurdles and hiccups in the academic journey.

The academic event which was held on 27 April, 2024 at the university’s convocation ground with the official presentation of the Ph.D degree to Dr. Irorohwo Goodluck Oyibokure by the vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Andy Egwunyenga.

Addressing guests during a reception at his Ughelli residence, Dr. Irorohwo Goodluck Oyibokure, who was highly elated said, “First, I happily give all the glory of this academic achievement to God Almighty for keeping my life all through the tortuous academic journey. Then, I want to express my love and happiness to my lovely wife and children for always sharing me up whenever I’m down with some academic challenges.

“In the same way, I want to thank my caring parents, High Chief & Chief (Mrs) Jabin Oyibokure and all my siblings. They are always very supportive to me and my family. Let me also express my warmest appreciations to my colleagues at the University of Delta, Agbor for always being with me. I thank all my lecturers and my Ph.D supervisor at the Delta State University for bringing out the best in me through lots of academic researches and my doctoral thesis. I’m indeed grateful to all of you here for celebrating the moment with me and my lovely family. Thank you and God bless!”

Many of the guests and members of the Oborifori Forum, a social group of Uwheru people, however poured encomiums and sent congratulatory messages to Dr. Irorohwo Goodluck Oyibokure for achieving the rare academic feat, with prayers from many of them for Dr. Oyibokure to attain professor position soon in his chosen academic career.

Dr. Irorohwo Goodluck Oyibokure had his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from the University of Calabar and his Ph.D from the Delta State University, Abraka. He is an indigene of Uwheru kingdom in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State and a lecturer at the University of Delta, Agbor.
