Orom Nte Bags Chieftaincy Title

Port Harcourt City and its environs last Saturday stood still for the former chairman of Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Orom Nte Ereforiokuma, who was conferred with the chieftaincy title of ‘Eze Chituru’ by the paramount ruler of Woji Community in Obio/Akpor LGA, alongside two other recipients.

The royal father, Eze Emeka Ihunwo, charged the awardees to be good ambassadors of Woji kingdom, noting that the kingdom does not offer titles for sale, but rather gives to deserving persons who have contributed immensely to its development.

The monarch further said that non-indigenes dwelling in Woji, including foreigners have in the past been recognised for their selfless services to the community.

Eze Ihunwo enjoined the new chiefs to exhibit love and build synergy with the community, adding that it will enhance a robust relationship.

Other awardees are Ani Anthonio Onu, conferred with the title of ‘Eze Obanya’, and Engr. Aligbe as ‘Eze Chigozilemma’ of Woji.

Thereafter, a reception was held at Hon. Orom Nte’s residence, where crème de la crème of the society came in their numbers to identify with the new chief and his wife, who was conferred with the title of ‘Lolo Eze Chituru’ of Woji Community.

Several eminent personalities poured encomiums on Chief Ereforiokuma, noting that he had impacted positively to the lives of many in the society. Some dubbed him ‘Empowerment Machine’ because of his magnanimity in rendering selfless service to humanity.

Paramount Ruler of Oron-Ija, HRH Bartholomew Egopyork, Ege-ile monarch HH Akankpo, Chief Iboroma Kitchner and several other dignitaries extolled the virtues of Orom Nte, adding that he deserves the title.

Prominent politicians and opinion leaders were on hand to grace the epoch event, described by many as a pleasant weekend bash.

Eze Chituru, while chatting with journalists promised to continue rendering good service to humanity, adding that he pioneered several projects in Woji Community and thanked the paramount ruler of the community for the title.
