As Nigerians eagerly await a fresh set of general elections come 2019, politicians have been advised to see whatever positions they are voted into as offices of sacrifice for the people who voted them in.
General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere who gave the advice while speaking with news men at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa recently urged the politicians to think more of the people that voted them into office and less of themselves.
Apostle Chinyere advised that, “before you pinch someone, first pinch yourself and know how it feels,” noting that no political office holder got into any position on his own accord but was sent by the people to represent them. He stressed that such office-holders are obligated to represent his or her people well.
The OPM general overseer pointed out that what Nigeria needs now, in order to survive the current economic situation, is prayers. “We should hand over everything to God in prayers because God is faithful, He is kind and will perfect everything.”
The man of God also advised the Nigerian electorate to, while exercising their franchise, pray that God would put the right people in positions of authority who would lead in righteousness and with the fear of God.
He admonished church leaders not only to pray, but always to do the right thing. “When you know the right thing, do it, don’t allow the people to suffer. There is hunger in the land, your conscience will tell you what is right or wrong, so stop being selfish and greedy,” he said.
