Chairman of Opobo/ Nkoro Local Government Area , Barr. James A. James has flagged off the construction of the 7.5km Nkoro-Kirka internal road Networks in the area.
The Information officer to the local government, Idanye Oruigoni who disclosed this in a statement stated that Barr. James while flagging-off the project on Tuesday, September 8, 2025 in Nkoro town, expressed his beliefs in talking less but doing more for the people, stating that the projects that his government will embark upon will speak for the administration.
The chairman emphasised that he and his team are at the helm of affairs in the council to serve, adding that he will embark on impactful projects and programmes that will touch on the lives of the people.
The Opobo/Nkoro Council boss explained that the new road project which would commence immediately, would ease the movement of goods and services and also enhance economic activities across the communities of Nkoro. According to the Chairman, it is a new era in infrastructural renewal, and a testimonial of his visionary leadership and called on the contractor to adhere to strict specifications and standards in executing the project.
Barr. James who was flanked by Council officials, councillors and party leaders during the ground breaking ceremony, emphasised that his administration was committed to providing practical, people oriented projects anchored on visible developments in the local government.
He however, warned against any person or group intending to disturb or sabotage the road project under any guise and charged the contractor to carry the local residents along in the execution of the project.
Responding, the Managing Director of the contracting firm, Raymitek Construction Company, Engr. Honourable Genesis assured that his firm would deliver the road project within time schedule and that the quality of work on the road will be in line with global best practices.
Engr. Genesis stated that with the available machinery, manpower, and expertise at the disposal of the company, the internal road contract will stand the test of time.
