Frontline chairmanship aspirant in the forthcoming Association of Nigerian Licensed Custom Agents, Onne Chapter elections, Chief Declan Obinna Onyema aka Agubata, has unveiled a 10-point agenda, aimed at uplifting professionalism, member-welfare and development.
Addressing a press conference in office on Monday, Chief Onyema, a policy strategist and consultant on disputes and conflict resolution, popularly known as ‘Agubata’, highlighted the need to harness growth potentials within the association, and by extension, the Onne seaport.
Onyema, who said his vision for a paradigm shift, as captured in his 10-point agenda, espouses a road map to “advance the affairs of the union through innovation, ideologies, policies and programs devoid of any form of compromise to the best interests of the collective will and good of our professional colleagues.”
Tagging the press conference message, meant to present the “new face of ANLCA movement,” as ‘The Parties Are Over,’ Chief Onyema told members of the association they “the parties are over. Let’s get back to the drawing board.
“The new face of ANLCA is that of innovation. It’s that of strategy. It’s that of carrying the collective will of the people along. You see, there is a need for the younger generation. I mean, those people who are less than 10 years old in industry, for them to actually be well-guided, to enable them to have a sense of direction, a sense of conviction, because the young generation are the future leaders of this great association.
“Posterity will judge every one of us if we make any mistake this time around in choosing the leaders of our association. We must not make a recourse to club sentiments and other forms of sentiments in making this momentous decision,” he said.
