Okuru Ama Dazzles as Late Itarikabo George ‘Goes Home in Triumph’

The creme de la creme of society and sympathizers thronged Okuru Ama in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State to bid farewell to late Itarikabo George Atorudibo, whom many described as a loving and caring father.

The funeral service which was held at the Okuru Ama football field and officiated by the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, attracted sympathizers from all walks of life.

The officiating priest said the late Itarikabo George Atorudibo was objective and principled in all ramifications, assuring that his soul will find rest in God’s bosom.

He however advised his wards to emulate the footsteps of their late father.

Speaking to our reporter before the commencement of the funeral service, scion of the family and chief mourner, George Itarikabo described his late father as a true and complete father- figure with unblemished records throughout his sojourn on earth, adding that he will be greatly missed by all and sundry.

He added that the children will sustain and emulate the principles of their father which is unparalleled in the annals of history. He further commended the sympathizers and guests who came in their numbers to identify with them in the moment of their grief.

Prominent chiefs and elders who spoke on the sidelines of the funeral event, poured encomiums on the late Itarikabo George, pointing out that he was exceptional and unique in character.

One of the community elders who spoke with our correspondent, said: “Itarikabo George radiates a rare mix of humility, simplicity and integrity and all these attributes are achieved through patience, understanding, competence and love to God and humanity. We truly miss him.”

His remains were later taken to the family compound where he was committed to Mother Earth, amidst wailing by the children, family members and sympathizers.
