As Barr Spencer Ohwofa continues to traverse communities in Ughelli North Constituency II, preaching his ‘Here to Serve’ message to the electorates, the campaign train, under the leadership of the campaign council chairman, Hon. Moses Anaughe, and director general, Olorogun (Amb). Henry Ovuoke Oshasha, visited Uvwiama, Uvwiamuge and Orhokpokpor communities in Agbarho Kingdom on Friday.
Addressing residents and party supporters, Barr Ohwofa said he is in the race to offer service to his people. He explained that he stepped into the Delta State House of Assembly race not as a novice, but as a technocrat, well prepared for public service, having built himself with the academic, leadership, management skills needed to deliver on the job.
“My being in this race is anchored on a clearly defined mission to serve my people. I hereby offer myself to be the eyes, ears and voice of the Ughelli North Constituency II people at the Delta State House of Assembly.
The success of his aspiration, he said, would address the dearth of leadership in the constituency and reposition her for progress as he seeks to engage critical stakeholders on the negotiation table using relevant legislative instruments in making sure his people receive all democratic dividends that is due to them.
“My people, the APC have been in power for barely 8 years. But today, testimonies abound of projects delivered to make life better for our people through the Niger Delta Development Commision, Deputy President of the Senate and our governorship candidate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, and most importantly, through the goodwill of your daughter, Hon. Stella Eruvwuoghene Okotete.
“Rest assured, we will deliver more dividends when we assume power in Asaba and retain the Presidency. Let us work together to actualise a new Delta that we can be proud of by voting for all APC candidates at the polls. I am counting on your support. It is time to build a new Delta that will foster employment and empowerment, development, good governance and enduring peace and security,” he declared.
As it is the case with other communities, the Uvwiamuge people extolled the leadership qualities of the ‘Lioness of the Niger Delta’ and Zanariya Abaji, Hon. Stella Okotete, for her sterling contributions to community development, which include amongst others, facilitating the construction of the Uvwiamuge link road by the NDDC, increasing economic support for aged citizens, women and youths, as well as several other philanthropic gestures which continue to brighten the hopes of the people.
A letter of commendation was presented to her by the president general of Uvwiama, Pastor Moses Odata, and received on her behalf by Barr. Spencer Ohwofa.
