Following the screening of nominees for appointment as secretaries to local government areas, the member representing Ughelli North Constituency 2 at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ohwofa, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, presented the nominee for Ughelli North Local Government Area, Pastor Goodluck Irikefe Unuavworho, to his colleagues in the house for screening and confirmation.
Making his presentation, Hon. Ohwofa observed that the SLG nominee for Ughelli North LGA, who hails from Orogun Town, had at various times served the state in several capacities. These include, first as an accountant with the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), from 2007 to 2017; Special Assistant on Special Duties to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, from 2017 to 2023; and until this new appointment, a Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties to the Governor of Delta State.
According to the release presented by his Media Office, Hon. Ohwofa emphasized that the nominee is eminently qualified for the position. He therefore urged the House to consider him for screening and possible confirmation.
Consequently, after a painstaking screening process by the Committee of the Whole House, the Ughelli North SLG nominee, Pastor Goodluçk Unuavworho, was confirmed alongside 16 others.
