Oborifori Forum, a social media group for sons and daughters of Uwheru kingdom, at home and in the Diaspora, has given its full support to the rebuilding of houses lost to the recent fire incident caused by tanker explosion at Ohoror community, Uwheru kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
During a recent visit to Ohoror community to ascertain the level of destruction of properties and the level of support from the state government and other stakeholders to the victims, the forum’s management committee, led by Olorogun Cassius Okiki, Engr. Roland Odjeni and Mr. Paris Ukpemeku, promised to give her full support to the rebuilding of the affected community.
Addressing Ohoror community leaders and some of the victims of the fire incidence during the visit, Olorogun Cassius Okiki said, “We came here in the name of Oborifori Forum. It’s a social media Whatsapp group of all Uwheru sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora. The mission of the group is to promote the growth and development of the entire Uwheru kingdom.
“We sympathize with the community especially those that lost properties in the fire incidence. It’s truly a great loss. However, as a concerned group, we have decided to give you our full support in rebuilding the lost houses. It’s through voluntary donations by members to achieve this objective. Today, the forum sent us here to know your demands and needs in the process of rebuilding the houses. Whatever you tell us now will be communicated to all members to enable us take the right step to actualize our dreams.
“In the same way, we are also calling on the Delta State government to give you the needed support to quickly recover from this traumatic experience,” he said.
Chairman of Ohoror community, Mr. Augustine Igometi who spoke on behalf of the community and the victims said, “We are indeed grateful to your show of love and concern to us as a community. Your support to us is memorable and historical. It’s not something we can forget in a hurry. At the moment, we can see the unity of the entire Uwheru kingdom speaking for the progress and success of the people. We should continue to abide by this great leadership virtue in the kingdom.
“For now, we need cement, sharp sand and granite to pour the foundations of the affected houses. We have already made plans to dig the foundations of the different affected houses, but we are still looking forward for the supply of cement, sharp sand and granite. We will indeed be happy if you can support us in those three important items. Once again, we are happy to see you here today as a group.”
The Oborifori Forum however promised to give support in those areas mentioned by the people and equally asked all Uwheru sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora to join the forum as members and also to contribute to the growth and development of Uwheru kingdom.
