Ogwus Gives Hope, Empowerment to Rivers Youths, Less Privileged

A non governmental organization, Ogwus Youth Empowerment & Community Development Organization, has created a change and support system for the teeming youths in the Niger Delta region, through robust empowerment initiatives, aimed at “changing the wrong narratives of youths in the region.”

Speaking with journalists recently in Port Harcourt, the founder and President of the organization, Engr. Dr. Chinedu Ogwus, said that his passion to give youths in the region a new lease of life is paramount, adding that the organization’s set goals will create the requisite enabling environment for sustainable peace in the region.

The entrepreneur assured that his readiness to ameliorate the sufferings of the citizens of the region, owing to the growing flux of apathy, hopelessness, angst and restiveness of youths, prepared him to take the bull by the horns in addressing social change in the society, through his empowerment programme.

For an organization, founded in 2024 to have achieved so much success in less than one year, credit has to be given to the founder and President who is likened to the eagle, known to most parts of the Niger Delta and is commonly acknowledged by virtually all our cultures as epitomizing greatness, excellence and leadership among birds. It exudes strength, displined freedom, dignity and the innate ability, capacity as well as willingness to renew itself through a process of retreat and intervention.

Ogwus Foundation is known to have sponsored Inter House Sports Competition at Community Secondary School Woji, Port Harcourt in the month of march, 2025. He discovered many young talents in Rivers State and hosted Governor Fubara, Edison Ehie and Finidi George during the Upata unity cup competition.

He is also known to have assisted various widows and the less privileged across the region in December, 2024 and also a strong partner to various councils and organizations in Nigeria and beyond, which includes, ECOWAS Youth Council, International Society of Diplomats, Rivers United FC, Upata Traditional Council, Niger Delta Youth Council, De Cardinal Football Academy, Ekpeye Youth Council, Upata Youth Council, etc.

Our correspondent reported that several stakeholders across the region poured encomiums on the vibrant entrepreneur for taking up the challenge in addressing Youth restiveness in the region and called on other entrepreneurs in the region to emulate his amazing steps.
