Ogu Stands Still for Alabo Ada Ebenezer

Crème de la crème of the society honoured the thanksgiving service and reception of the “doyen of Ogu politics and political masterpiece of the moment,” Alabo Rev. Francis Ada Ebenezer Onye, at Ogu in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The serene atmosphere welcomed distinguished personalities and guests from all walks of life, in an event described by guests as one of the greatest funfair ever in the history of the community.

St. Martins Anglican Church was full to the brim, with the bishop of Okrika Diocese, Rt. Rev. Enoch Atuboyedia, preaching the importance of thanksgiving. He called on the congregation to render selfless services to humanity and give the Almighty Creator thanks at all times.

He prayed for God’s mercies on the family of the celebrant and advised them to keep faith with God.

In his testimony, Alabo Ebenezer thanked God for his appointment as the executive director, Finance & Administration, Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA).

He flayed “enemies of progress” for trying to destroy his successes, but thanked God for his divine protection and guidance.

At the reception, the amiable Alabo was full of praises for the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his dynamic principles and commitment to building bridges of hope and a detribalize Rivers State.

He called on all and sundry to support the “unparalleled initiatives” of Rotimi Amaechi, saying that the minister has an accommodative heart to reposition Nigeria and Rivers State.

Several dignitaries spoke highly of the celebrant who they consider a governorship material by all ramifications.

Top chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dakuku Peterside, Emeka Beke, Sokonte Davies, Isaac Ogbobula and others extolled the virtues of Alabo Ebenezer and charged him to remain steadfast in the years ahead.

GSS OGU Old Boys Association, led by its president, Dr. Hon. Osaki Asobari registered their presence to identify with the celebrant, who is equally an old boy of the prestigious school.

On the sidelines of the event, an octogenarian and Second Republic politician who did not want his name in print described Alabo Ebenezer as a total gentleman with desire for quality lifestyle for all Rivers citizens, irrespective of tribe.

“He will make a good governor if he picks the ticket. I have no doubt because he is one of the brightest personalities I have ever met in my entire life. He is humble, down to earth and compassionate. I’m from Orashi region, but I think he is the best among equals”

Several support groups, cultural and religious organizations added colour and spiced up the event.
