Ogbuagu Bags Award As ‘Quintessential Administrator’

The joy of Hon Johnson Ogbuagu knew no bounds as he was bestowed with an award as a ‘Quintessential Administrator’ by the Niger Delta Media Forum for distinguishing himself in the discharge of his responsibilities to the state and the society.

Ogbuagu who is the head of Local Government Administration in Obio/Akpor Local Government Council in the state was honored in recognition of his “outstanding contributions and commitments to the growth and development of the local government system in the state as well as effective implementation of policies and programmes which have impacted positively on the smooth administration of the third tier government in Obio/Akpor and the state in general where he has held several positions without blemish.”

Responding, Ogbuagu expressed appreciation to the Niger Delta Media Forum for finding him worthy of the award and pledged to continue to do his best in the interest of the state and its people.

The administration Icon who has served the local government system for more than two decades however, called on the authorities to accord the local government some form of autonomy as the closest government to the people at the grassroots, so as to foster development at rural areas.

He however, used the opportunity to commend the chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barr. George Ariolu for embarking on policies and programmes that have impacted positively on the lives and wellbeing of the people especially in human capital development and other projects which have changed the aesthetics of the Local Government Council as well as creating conducive environment for civil servants to operate and do their work in the council.
