The people of Ogbia Constituency 3, in Bayelsa State, rolled out the drums to celebrate with one of their own, Hon. Gabriel Michael Ogbara, over his inauguration and declaration as member and chief whip of the 7th Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
Giving goodwill messages during the reception ceremony at Elebele community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, constituents of Ogbia Constituency 3, expressed optimism in Hon. Ogbara’s ability to represent them effectively and make policies that would herald infrastructural and human capacity development.
The state’s Commissioner for Women, Children Affairs, Empowerment and Social Development, Hon. Faith Opuene, said she’s elated that Ogbia has a key principal officer in the seventh Assembly, urging Hon. Gabriel Ogbara to continue with his unification mantra and hold Ogbia local council in unity.
The member representing Ogbia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Fred Azibapu Obua, said Hon. Ogbara’s victory and inauguration marks the beginning of a new phase of productive and effective representation for the people of Ogbia Constituency 3.
While stating his readiness to galvanize support for Senator Douye Diri ahead of the November 11th governorship election, the member representing Ogbia Constituency 3 and chief whip of the seventh Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbariel Michael Ogbara appreciated the governor for supporting him throughout his campaign period.
“Today marks a new era in Ogbia Constituency 3. I have been a member once, and coming back as a principal officer of the 7the Assembly, I have no choice than to give my best shot and deliver on my campaign promises.
“I owe my constituents which I must pay back by ushering the needed development to the area and sponsoring people-oriented bills on the floor of the state assembly for the betterment of all,” he added
The immediate past special adviser on political matters 11 to Governor Diri, also thanked the former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, for his fatherly guidance, and the people of Ogbia Constituency 3, who believed and voted for him, adding that he is grateful and would not take their support for granted.
The reception ceremony also witnessed the presence of High Chief Collins Cocodia, special adviser to the governor on Political Matters, Dr Promise Ekio, Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Federal Opaminola Otokito, Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment and Hon. Ebitei Robert Tonyon, Commissioner for Power.
