Oborifori Forum, a popular social media group of the Uwheru people in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has joined Deltans to congratulate one of their sons and member, Bar. Spencer Ohwofa, for receiving his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Barr. Ohwofa received certificate of return on Wednesday as the member-elect for Ughelli North Constituency 2, Delta State House of Assembly, in the just concluded 2023 general elections.
In a phone chat with our correspondent, Pastor Patani Festus, one of the group’s administrators expressed joy over Ohwofa’s victory the polls. He equally described Uwheru people as “one-minded people that always fight for their own children without considering political affiliations or family membership.”
Pastor Patani therefore thanked all members of Oborifori Forum and all Uwheru kingdom electorates for “their unalloyed support to Barr. Spencer Ohwofa during the elections.”
Speaking in the same vein, Mr. Benjamin Igometi, a divisional police officer (DPO) with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and also one of the group’s administrators, thanked members of Oborifori Forum for “continuously preaching the good news about Bar. Spencer Ohwofa during the period of campaigns to all the electorates in Ughelli North Constituency 2 especially those from Uwheru kingdom.”
According to Igometi, their labour at the end of the election yieided the expected results as their son was declared the winner of the House of Assembly seat. He also advised Bar. Ohwofa to always listen to the yearnings and needs of his constituents and try to satisfy them if he wants to climb higher on the political ladder.
Also speaking were Mr. Young Kenneth Emretiyoma, a respected media consultant and an editor of the Urhobo Voice Newspapers, and Mr. Goodluck Irorohwo Oyibokure, an academic with the University of Delta, Agbor.
The duo also congratulated Barr. Ohwofa for his victory at the polls and while expressing appreciation to members of Oborifori Forum for their prayers and support all through the electioneering period.
They however called on other Uwheru sons and daughters, residing within or outside the kingdom to join the social media group as “the fastest medium to interact, exchange ideas and pass useful information to one another especially in a civilized and advanced society like ours.” The duo further called on Barr. Ohwofa to live up to the people’s expectations as a trusted and tested young politician.
