Non-Indigenes Pledge Support for Dickson, Peace in Bayelsa

The efforts of the administration of Governor Seriake Dickson to stem the tide of insecurity in Bayelsa state has started receiving boost as the general elections draw nearer. The support, our correspondent gathered, is coming from the non – indigenes resident in the state under the aegis of Non-Indigenes Restoration Forum.

In an interview with our correspondent, shortly after his meeting with members and the group’s various community coordinators, the state chairman, Pastor Chinbudu remarked that non – indigenes in the state “owe it a duty to themselves and countryman, Governor Seriake Dickson the duty to ensure that we all contribute to maintenance of peace, law and order in the state.”

He enjoined non – indigenes in all parts of the state to be supportive of the well-meaning policies and programs of the state that are aimed at creating a conducive and friendly environment for Bayelsans alike to do their legitimate business without fear or favor.

On the forthcoming elections, where the votes of the non-indigenes would be highly sought for, Pastor Chibundu said that the votes of the members of his group will be well utilized to elect credible candidates who will build on the legacies of the Restoration administration of Governor Dickson.

The Forum, he added is prepared to galvanize support and mobilize all the non – indigenes across the state , the forum will also discourage all forms electoral violence as anyone found engaging in disrupting the peaceful conduct during and after the elections would be handed over  to the law enforcement agents to serve as deterrent to others.
