The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Rivers State Command has decorated ninety-eight newly promoted senior and middle cadre officers at the command.
The NIS in Rivers State also inducted 54 newly recruited personnel after their convocation and orientation at the command.
The newly decorated ninety-eight senior and middle cadre officers are made up of 43 females and 55 males.
The Comptroller of the Rivers State Command, Sunday James, who is now an assistant comptroller general of the NIS, joined families and well-wishers of the newly promoted officers, in a statement on Tuesday, to express appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the members of the Board CDCFIB, the Comptroller General of Immigration Service Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, and the Service Management for the promotion.
He described the promotion exercise as a welfare package to spur the officers to do more, adding that “as the adage goes to whom much is given, much is expected. The officers are willing, ready and able to pursue all the tasks they are mandated to carry out within the purview of the service mandates.”
He assured the people of the command on NIS next assignments, noting that the comptroller and personnel of the Rivers Command look forward to a more productive and prosperous year ahead.
