The multi-purpose hall in Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, was recently filled to capacity with friends, family members and other dignitaries as the I Hope In Christ Foundation, a global non-government organization, committed to the support of the less privileged in the society, presented an award to Madam Onofe Loveth Ufuoma, a PDP grassroots politician in the LGA.

Chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff Oborevwori, speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, who was represented at the event by a notable Okpe chief, Chief Fidelis Aghworo, described Madam Onofe as a lover of children and of education, a grassroots mobilizer and a generous giver who always assist others from the little she has.

“Madam Onofe Loveth Ufuoma is a notable woman of value. She has contributed selflessly to the development of our various communities in Okpe Kingdom. She’s worthy of the award. I commend her for her humanitarian services to these children. In the same way, I also appreciate I Hope In Christ Foundation for this singular honour done to our lovely daughter. I strongly believe that this award will definitely spur Madam Onofe and all of us present here today to contribute more to the development of mankind and the society at large,” he said.

Presenting the award to the recipient, the national director of the foundation, Mayor Ezekiel Akpobome Okpako, said, “Without mincing words, the recipient, Madam Onofe Loveth Ufuoma deserves this award. She has been partnering with this foundation to run some of our programmes and projects here in Okpe LGA especially the Back To School project which cater for the educational needs of orphans and other less privileged children.

“As part of this award-giving ceremony, Madam Onofe Loveth Ufuoma has also sponsored 21 less privileged children from three different public schools here in Okpe LGA. She spent her own hard-earned money to buy school bags, notebooks, sandals, school uniforms and other educational materials for these little children. The schools are Okorodudu Primary School, Umiaghwa Primary School and Okuodiemo Primary School. Therefore, on behalf of I Hope In Christ Foundation, I hereby present this award to Madam Onofe Loveth Ufuoma as a community developer,” Okpako said.
