Asomeji explained that “NDMPN is a non-governmental organization known for distribution of exercise books to pupils, distribution of hospital consumables and hosting of sensitization and re-orientation programmes as a way of encouraging the younger generation in the Niger Delta region.”
He appealed for the sponsorship of the next phase of its corporate social responsibility project which is proposed to hold a one day sensitization campaign against drug abuse and illicit drugs with the theme “Mental Disability is more harmful than physical Disability” scheduled for Thursday 18th December 2025.

Amadi also commended NDMPN for promoting professional excellence in journalism and shaping public discourse, and pledged to continue strengthening service delivery, improving administrative systems, and advancing good governance in the state.
“I am delighted to receive an award of honour as the most Distinguished LGSC Chairman of the year, 2025, this award came as a huge surprise to me and my Distinguished colleagues at the Commission, I sincerely extend my appreciation to the the board and management of NDMPN for finding me worthy of this recognition.
“Prior to assumption of office, on 14th July 2025, my team and I had engaged public opinion on how best to professionalize the LG administration in the state, we met some challenges on ground such as declining work ethics, over-bloated work force, falsification of staff records, and refusal to retire from service, among others. To address these problems, my commission decided to embark on heart-to-heart sensitization and construction engagement with all principal officers and staff of the 23 LGAs and other stakeholders.
“Following the directive of His Excellency, the Governor, the commission has commenced staff/pensioners audit, digitalization and biometric verification of the staff of the Commission and the 23 LGAs, it is hoped that at the end of this exercise, we will have a functional database of serving and retired staff, also, the issue of ghost workers would be addressed”.
He maintained that they have instituted a cost-effective reward system to motivate staff across all the LGAs, adding that the commission is committed to excellence and sustenance of the confidence reposed on it by Rivers People.
