Hundreds of women from the Niger Delta region on Monday gathered in Port Harcourt, capital city of Rivers State to pray for the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
The women who converged at the venue of the ongoing second edition of a 3-month skills acquisition programme organised by the Victorious Prayer Network (aka, King Makers Ministries), but sponsored by the NDDC, later stormed the roads of Port Harcourt in protest against alleged secret moves by some persons to oust the Ogbuku and the current Board of the Commission from office.
The protesting women, drawn across the nine Niger Delta states, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ignore calls for the sack of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, as the NDDC MD by people they described as enemies of the Niger Delta region.
Addressing Journalists during the demonstration, founder of the Victorious Prayer Network and leader of the prayer/protesting women, Prophetess Mrs. Victoria Ebi Agori said the women were responding to a planned protest on Wednesday 26 February, 2025, by some individuals known as Niger Delta Civil Society Organisations against the NDDC MD, Dr Samuel Ogbuku and the Board of the Commission led by Barr. Chiedu Ebie.
Prophetess Agori, who is also the Founder of United Izon Tare-Ogbo International condemned calls for the removal of Ogbuku as the NDDC MD, stressing that the Niger Delta women are strongly behind his administration, adding that he has shown great commitment and dedication to the development of the region and her citizens.
She said those calling for Ogbuku’s sack do not mean well for the Niger Delta people, describing them as enemies of the region who are not happy with his developmental agenda which made his revalidation as substantive Managing Director of the NDDC possible.
Agori said, “We are here today to pray for the Managing Director of the NDDC, Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku. It is no longer news that some persons are working tirelessly to remove him from office, but their plans will not work, it will continue to fail.
“We learnt that some selfish individuals under a faceless group called Niger Delta Civil Society Organisations are planning to disturb the peace of our dear nation in the name of a nationwide protest for Ogbuku’s removal from office, and we don’t want that, we want him to complete his tenure as the MD of NDDC.
“Chief Ogbuku is doing well, he is a God sent to the people of Niger Delta region. Look at this skills acquisition programme here, it is being sponsored by the MD and the NDDC. We have over 1000 widows, orphans, pastors and others as beneficiaries. There are also many other laudable projects which includes; youth empowerment programmes, human capacity building and infrastructural developments across the region courtesy of Dr Ogbuku and the Board.
“So, that is why we, the Niger Delta Women, through this demonstration today, we are calling on the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ignore these persons planning this protest on the 26th or ending of this February.
“By calling for the removal of Chief Samuel Ogbuku who has shown so much dedication and commitment to develop the Niger Delta and the people too, it shows that they don’t mean well for the people of Niger Delta. We can all bear witness that since Ogbuku’s emergence as MD of NDDC, there is peace in the region and the people are happy.
“Their evil and wicked plots have been exposed and they have really proved that they are enemies of the Niger Delta and the people.”
Mrs. Agori also, during their demonstration God gave a prophetic message for President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027 election.
In the prophecy, she said, that Tinubu will be returned as president of Nigeria in 2027. “Yes. God told me that President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will complete his 8 years in office.
She said, “It seems that there is a force in that NDDC, that even when the MD is doing perfectly well, people will still be seeing bad from the their good, and they will start calling for his sack. That has made it impossible for anyone to ever complete his complete tenure.
“But today, God has used our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to break that yoke by allowed Chief Samuel Ogbuku to complete his tenure as MD, yet some people are not happy and they are making themselves available for the devil to use to fight what God has approved.”
Agori further said; “While we were still in the prayer, God spoke, saying that our father, President Bola Tinubu, because he was used a instrument to break that yoke in NDDC that Ogbuku will be the first to complete his tenure, despite all Nigerians are saying, Asiwaju will complete his years in office as President.”
