NAPPS Ready to Work with Wike on Quality Education ~ Green

The National Association Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) in Rivers State has resolved to work with the committees set up by the state governor, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Wike, for accreditation and approval of private schools in the state.

The state president of NAPPS, Chief (Hon) Victor Green made this assertion while briefing press after the association’s emergency meeting in Port Harcourt.

He said NAPPS encourages standard and quality education in Nigeria, as he appealed to the Rivers State government to give them time to interface with the committees.

The NAPPS boss also appealed to the state government to consider giving soft-loans to school owners as is being done for private doctors in the state.

He said this “will minimize the cost of running the schools and improve the standard and quality of education in the state, as economic situation in the country is not favourable.”

Chief Green also advised the committee set up to look into the certification and approval of private schools in the state to use their vast knowledge, as experienced educationists, to identify the problems of private schools and advise where necessary, rather than closing down private schools which he says may not be the best option.

He also denied that private school owners are employing unqualified teachers, adding that NAPP$ believes in quality education and therefore cannot employ unqualified teachers, as he promised the committees that NAPPS will give them all the necessary support they require for the state to have standard and quality education.
