Mirioma FC Emerges Champion in Ozuzu Clan Unity Cup Competition


In what looked like a World Cup final in Ozuzu in Etche, Mirioma FC of Omunachi outclassed opponent hard-working Omufuroro FC also of Ozuzu to win on penalties to emerge winners in the maiden edition of the Ozuzu Clan Soccer tournament.
The final which attracted the who is who in Etche and Rivers State, witnessed a superlative display of soccer artistry by both sides, especially the Winners Mirioma FC of Omunachi and runners up Omufuroro FC of Ozuzu.
In a packed full Stadium facility at Ozuzu State School on 1st of December 2024, Mirioma defeated Omufuroro 5 goals to 4 on penalties after full time ended one in regulation time
In the third place match played on the 30th of December 2023, Okwu strikers FC of Ozuzu defeated Amazing FC of Ojia Ozuzu 4 goals to one on penalties after full time ended goalless.
Speaking after receiving the trophy the Proprietor of Mirioma FC Elder Sampson Amadi who doubles as a Board member of the Rivers state football Association and chairman Etche Football Council thanked his players for their gallant performance promising that his tenure as FA chairman in Etche will witness massive turnaround in football development in the local government Area.
He also congratulated, the owner and players of Omufuroro fc of Ozuzu Chief Amb. Daniel Onyeche, the Eze Omenukoaku 1 of (Umuforuru) Ozuzu Etche who are runners up for his sportsmanship conduct all through the competition.
Earlier, the donor of the maiden Ozuzu Clan Soccer tournament, Eze Sir Nnamdi Munonye who was full of excitement for a well Conducted Ozuzu Cultural carnival and the Ozuzu Clan Soccer tournament praise the Local organising committee led by Emmanuel Ordu and the entire people of Ozuzu clan for their participation in the two important events, the Cultural carnival and the Ozuzu Soccer tournament which took place at State school Ozuzu Etche.
