Online news publication and media consultants, Port Harcourt Mundial is to partner with leading sports consultants in Rivers State, Rooter World, towards promoting the forthcoming Lady Golfers’ Open competition.
The open golf competition, organized by the Eastern zone of the Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), is billed for June 23 – 24, 2017 at the Air Assault Golf Club in Port Harcourt.
Editor-in-chief of Port Harcourt Mundial, Mr Christopher Ukandi, told our reporter that the competition, which is designed to promote golf among women and children in the South-South, offers his medium the opportunity to join other organizations in promoting golf at different levels.
He noted that golf, like other sports, has the potential of promoting not just the physical and social development of participants, but also of engendering a peaceful and progressive society as well as ensuring overall social harmony.
Ukandi congratulated Rooters World “on this opportunity to participate in harnessing women and children golfers in the Eastern zone, and the Lady Golfers’ Association of Nigeria for bringing golf to audience and players in the zone.”
Coordinator of Rooters World and popular sports and media advocate, Martins Giadom, said that “the right synergy and partnership with responsive corporate organizations will benefit the society,” adding that as grassroots sports and media advocacy group, also engaged in maritime and energy reporting, his organization will continue to build such partnerships that will promote sports development.
Giadom said Rooters World consists of sports administrators, practicing journalists and experienced professionals, and is well positioned to deliver key and specific projects like the Lady Golf championship.
According to the national vice president of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria Helen BariNyana, and tournament secretary, Adaugo Martins, eight golf clubs across the zone will be competing for trophies at the tournament.
