Khana Boss, Thomas, Set to Commission Neigbourhood Water Scheme

Residents of Nortem Community, and in particular those living at Bank Road by Abanee Street and adjoining Maakoro, will soon smile following the provision of Neigbourhood Water Scheme by the chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Bariere Thomas.

This has been made possible through the efforts of Hon. James Kpea, the councilor representing Ward 1, who deemed the project necessary, considering the necessity of water for those who live in the area without access to potable water, and worked in consonance with the chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Bariere Thomas, who is putting all resources at his disposal to achieve development in the area.

According to our reporter, on mentioning the need for potable water in the area, the council chairman, Dr. Thomas, quickly accepted completing the project.

Our correspondent gathered that “before now, no past chairman of Khana LGA has taken such bold to ensure the provision of such basic needs such as water and light for its citizens. It is then only under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Bariere Thomas and Hon. James Kpea (councilor) was such opportunity to be assessed.”

One Mrs. Barikui Baridon, who lives directly opposite the project and spoke to our correspondent, appreciated the chairman’s effort and solicited for timely conclusion of the project by providing them generator set for the project to facilitate usage, considering the necessity of water to households, mothers and family in particular, and general public at large.

It could be recalled that the water project was among those earmarked to provide by Hyprep Carbon Remediation Project (HYPREP). However, according to residents, “to the greatest suprise it was not provided.”
