Late Mrs. (Olori) Itumiruke Akpososo, aged 65, who passed away on April 12, 2020, has been committed to Mother Earth recently at her home town of Evwreni in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State with fanfare.

The burial ceremony which was conducted according the tenets and practices of the Igbe religion drew together Igbe adherents from all over Delta State.

Addressing her children, family members and all Igbe worshippers present during the graveside service, Olori Ephesians Jaito, who led members of the Igbe Orhe Ofuafo Oghene Healing Home Inc, Unenurhie community to the burial remarked in his presentation that, man dies but once.

He enjoined the children of the late prophetess to always abide by the virtues of love, kindness, humility, giving and generosity as their mother did while on earth. He further prayed for mama’s children to live older than their mother and to also enjoy the fruits of their labour while still on earth.

Her remains were later interred after offering prayers and observing other rites as is the practice in the Igbe religion of Africa.

Speaking to news men, mama’s eldest son, Evang. Gambriel Obregoror, a committed and dedicated member of the God’s Grace Ministry Inc, Evwreni branch said, “My late mother was lovely and kind, not just to her children alone but to all those that came her way. If you look around the arena, all those that are wearing the same clothes with us, are not just mama’s biological children. But they are all here to give her the last respect and honour. And to also support us the children to give our late mother a befitting burial. Many of these people are family members and others are her Igbe members.

“This is the picture of the kind of love my mother had while living. In fact, her generosity was second to none. She would always like to share whatever she had with anybody who was in need of that particular thing, no matter how small the thing was. We really missed her for so many good things especially her pieces of advice to us as children and all the support to make life better for us. Well, let her precious soul rest in peace.

“At this time, let me say few words of appreciation on behalf of my siblings and family members to all our loved ones and invited guests present here today to share the moment with us. First, I want to thank the Igbe worshippers present here to give our late mother a befitting burial service according to their practices. Secondly, I still want to thank all our friends and invited guests that are here. In the same way, I want to appreciate the kind gesture of my mother’s family members displayed to us all through the periods of the planning of the burial ceremony to this very moment. I want to also thank my in-laws from Evwreni here and those from Unenurhie community for sharing the moment with me. Finally, I must commend the efforts of my mother’s Igbe members for a job well done. God will continue to provide for them. And to all those that supported us one way or the other,” he said.

The burial ceremony ended with the presentation of cash gifts to the children by loved ones and invited guests after the usual entertainment of guests with food and drinks.

Until she passed on, late Mrs. (Olori) Itumiruke Akpososo was a dedicated and committed member of the Igbe Orhe Ofuafo Oghene Healing Home Inc with over thirty years of membership. As she rose from grass to grace in the Igbe religion, she was later ordained Olori by the late Uku Sunday Efedudu with a congregation of over one hundred members in her worship hall at Evwreni town. The position of ‘Olori’ in the Igbe religion is equivalent to a branch pastor in the church.
