It’s Easier to See God than Many African Presidents ~ Adeboye

By Young E. Freeborn, Warri

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said, “It’s easier to see God than to see many African presidents.”

The renowned and humble man of God made this statement recently in one of his daily radio broadcasts as aired by Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Warri, Delta State.

Speaking during the short radio programme, Pastor Adeboye admonished Christians, holding different positions in the society to humble themselves and shun acts of rudeness and pride in dealing with their fellow Christians or countrymen.

Hear him: “As Christians, we are supposed to be Christ-like in all our behaviours and personal relationships with other people. I always say it that, it’s easier to see God than to see many African presidents. For you to be able to visit a president of any African country, you will be made to pass through so many tests, screenings and other hurdles. “First, it’s to book appointment for the visit through his chief secretary who will now present it to his chief security officer for screening. This will take much time to work out before the president will give his approval for the visit.

“On the day of the visit, you will be made to pass through different screening tests, including medical test. Thereafter, you will be subjected to thorough security checking by his security aides. You will pass through the first gate with this kind of checking, pass through the second gate, third gate, fourth gate and finally, the last gate before you can now see the president.”

Still speaking on the subject, the servant of God said, “But many of us call unto God at our convenience. He’s always there to answer our prayers. How many checking points do we pass through before God answers our prayers?

“This is where many Christians, including great men of God are missing it today. Rudeness and pride are not virtues or characters of Jesus Christ, whom we are following. They are worldly characters and they make God to be annoyed with us. Let’s as Christians be humble servants before the Lord and to our loved ones in our homes, places of work, communities and our countries. Let’s remove these clothes of rudeness and pride from our lives.

“In whatever capacity or position you are placed today in politics, religion, business or traditional leadership, let’s be humble like Jesus Christ to handle the affairs of our people whom we are made to serve. We are serving a humble God and not a proud or rude or arrogant God. Pride, rudeness and arrogance are sins that can destroy our relationships with God and Jesus Christ. Humble yourselves now, and God will lift you up in due season.”

The man of God ended his sermon by calling on our political leaders to always see themselves as servants of the people and to try to run an open door government, centred on accountability, prudence, fairness, equity, justice, truth and love.
