The minister recalled that, he has done a lot for his Ikwerre ethnic nationality, adding that during his tenure as governor, he empowered a lot of Ikwerre people and awarded indigenes scholarships to advance their education.

Chief Sunny Dike regretted that some Ikwerre persons “who were nobody before but were helped to attain heights by Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi, are those betraying the Transportation minister today,” as he begged for forgiveness for them.
In his remarks, the deputy chairman of Ikwerre APC Chiefs and Elders Forum, Chief (Hon.) Engr, Sir Appolos Emenike Amadi, had hailed the visit of Rt Hon. Chibuike Amaechi to the Forum, and described it as long expected, and a welcome development.
