Sports enthusiast in Rivers State, Chief Christopher Okonkwo, has praised the CEO and Managing Director of Keves Global Leasing Ltd, Chief Sir Ikenna Okafor, the sole sponsor of the annual Keves Swimming Classic in the state.
Making the commendation in an interview, Okonkwo noted that Chief Ikenna Okafor’s commitment to sports promotion in Rivers State is second to none, adding that Ikenna had shown much passion in sponsoring sporting events ranging from swimming, tennis, football, golf as well as helping athletes to seek greener pastures even outside the state.
“Chief Ikenna Okafor has made a remarkable mark in sponsoring the game of Tennis, and I can assure you that since he has moved to swimming section, the glamour in tennis section is no more the same as it used to be in the past.”
Okonkwo who is also a Board of Trustee member of Port Harcourt Club 1928, however advised that the issue of tribalism should be put aside in the club to allow everyone contribute his quota so as to return all the sporting sections of the club to their lost glory.
