Youths in Rivers State have eulogized a former chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, High Chief Cassidy Ikegbidi, for his contributions to the development of Ahoada and Ekpeyeland.

The youths who made the commendation during a visit to the former council chairman described him as a role model who had affected the lives of Rivers youths positively.

According to them, High Chief Ikegbidi started from a humble background, surpassed “all obstacles on his way to become the great achiever he is today.”

Dennis Enwudor who spoke on behalf of the youths related that High Chief Ikegbidi lost his father at an early age, but being highly determined, he was able to achieve great success in life.

He said Ikegbidi’s diligence, intelligence and hard work catapulted him to fame, making him a role model that Rivers youths are emulating.

He also said due to the fact that Ikegbidi knew poverty, he had made it a point of duty to assist youths with background like him in his communities and Ekpeye kingdom at large.

“He is dogged, diligent, obedient, meticulous and visionary in all his endeavours.  His foresight of a bright future was topical of his innate qualities of hard work and success.  He is truthful and God-fearing.  His word is his bound.

“As chairman of Ahoada East LGA, Cassidy brought human and infrastructural development to his people.  He is a peaceful man and he is working tirelessly to promote and sustain the existing peace in his domain.  He loves his people and they love him too.

“Because of his good nature, out of the 14 communities of Igbu-Akoh clan in Ekpeye, 12 paramount rulers (Eze Nwe-Ula’s) have already endorsed him to be their king.  Even the first Eze Igbu-Akoh Dr. Abel Okpara Ololube (late) came through adoption by 12 paramount rulers.  Ikegbidi is a grassroots man that is why the state embraced him,” Enwudor said.
