‎The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 16, Yenagoa, comprising the Rivers and Bayelsa State Police Commands, Johnson Adenola, has called for inclusive policing through active engagement with all sectors of society.

‎AIG Adenola made the call during an interactive dinner organized by the Rivers State Police Command in collaboration with the Bosinde Arikpe Global Peace Initiative Campaign, themed “Police is Your Friend,” held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Officers’ Mess, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.

‎He said the police administration is committed to building stronger partnerships with stakeholders, civil society, and community members to enhance security and public trust.

‎“We cannot do this work alone; we must work with all stakeholders. This gathering allows us to interact beyond the office and receive feedback from the public.

‎“Rivers State Police Command is doing very well, and I appeal to you to continue to support us. When we don’t get it right, come forward and tell us. Join the PCRC for regular engagement with the Police.”

‎He congratulated award recipients for their dedication to service and urged them to continue striving for excellence.

‎Earlier, Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to community-oriented policing, emphasizing that cooperation between the police and citizens is vital for lasting peace and security.

‎Ambassador Bosinde Arikpe, convener of the initiative, commended CP Adepoju for his leadership. Awards were also presented to outstanding officers.
