Heritage Oil Services Ltd, Warri has began the 2019/2020 capacity building training for youths and young graduates from oil communities in OML 30, cluster 3, Evwreni field in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, with a call by the company for the trainees to diligently committee themselves to the three months training.
The cluster 3 in OML 30 comprised Evwreni, Unenurhie and Uwheru communities.
Addressing the trainees and dignitaries present at the one day opening ceremony held at Unenurhie community, the chairman of the cluster, who is also president-general of Evwreni kingdom, Mr. Bright Adjogbe, asked the trainees to be committed to the programme and to use the rare opportunity diligently to better their lots.
“This capacity building training is a yearly programme by Heritage Oil Services Ltd under their corporate social responsibility as an oil company for her host communities. The main purpose of this programme is to make our teeming youths to be self employed at the end. The programme is to remove all of you that are selected here today from joblessness. Therefore, I want to plead with you to make use of this opportunity being given to you by your communities.”
In his remarks, head of Community and Government Affairs at Heritage Oil Services Ltd, Prince Jerry Oharisi, commended the cluster management for running an open door administration in the three communities making up the cluster. He also admonished the trainees to consider themselves worthy for being selected for the training programme.
“You must make use of this great opportunity offered you by the company and your community. This capacity building training is one of the company’s corporate social responsibilities to its host communities. We want you to thoroughly undergo the three months training in whichever trade or skill you chose. Then, your starter packs will be your take off point to boost your economic lives. Once again, I thank you for making yourselves available for this event.”
In the same vein, the secretary of the cluster, Mr. Peter Maison, who is also the president-general of Unenurhie community thanked the management staff of Heritage Oil Services Ltd, CDB members, trainees and community leaders. He however warned the trainees to avoid negligence in the course of their training in the different trades and skills in order to achieve the main purpose of the programme.
The opening ceremony ended with oath taking by the trainees administered by Prince Jerry Oharisi on behalf of Heritage Oil Services Ltd.
