A group, under the aegis of Rivers Integrity Vanguard (RIV) has lauded President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Dr. Anugbum Onouha as the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC.
The group in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Biobele Jack and Secretary, Julius Amadi, also congratulated Dr. Onuoha, describing his appointment as well deserving following his impressive credentials in both the public and private sectors.
The statement also berated some residents of the state who are opposed or criticizing Onuoha’s appointment and his subsequent deployment as the new Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner.
The body viewed such opposition as mischievous and unpatriotic, stressing Onouha as an Associate Professor of Law at Rivers State University is eminently qualified for the job.
The group however urged the Rivers REC to discharge his duties diligently to improve the electoral system in the Country.
They also advised Rivers people to stop malicious activities and pull down syndrome of against their own, “But always encourage and support our son’s and daughters in position of authority”.
