Graham Douglas Endorses Book On Jonathan, Tasks N’ Delta Youths

Elder statesman and four-time federal minister, Hon. Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas has endorsed a book entitled ‘Diamond In The Rough’ written by Pastor Dimabo Soberekon.

Graham-Douglas endorsed the book, a motivational hinged “on the wisdom of former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan,” during the award ceremony organized by the Ijaw Republic Patriotic Front in collaboration with the Ijaw Media Action Initiative at Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, on Saturday, February 3, 2018.

Douglas, who chaired the event, described the author as a promising Ijaw son whose effort should be commended.

He advised Niger Delta youths to be hardworking and patriotic in order to make positive impact in life.

Pst Dimabo. Soberekon, who had earlier visited Alabo Graham-Douglas in his house to present the book to him, is currently running for the councillorship position of ASALGA Ward 6 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a keynote address at the event, HRH Prof. D.M.J. Fubara described late Chief Harold Dappa Biriye as a great son of the Niger Delta, adding that apart from naming the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) building after him, the Port Harcourt international airport should also be named after him.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the event, author of the book, Dimabo Soberekon, thanked Alabo Graham-Douglas for giving him the opportunity to participate in the programme and for also endorsing the book, which made it possible for it to be kept at the Hotel Presidential Library.

He also thanked the organizers of the event, especially the President of Ijaw Republic Patriotic Front, Alatubo Charles Harry, for their vision while also commending one of the co-editors of the book, Pst Dehsty Kharma for his support.

On his councillorship aspiration, he said he is banking on God and the support of his people to succeed, adding that his heart desire is to improve the lot of his people when elected.

Some of the Ijaw sons given award during the event include Dr Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience, Governor Seriake Dickson, King Alfred Diette-Spiff, Chief Harold Dappa Biriye (posthumous), and Chief G.K.J. Amachree (posthumous), among others.

Gov. Nyesom Wike was given the Distinguished Friend of Ijaw Nation award.
