Gov Fubara Exhibited ‘Extreme Restraint’ in Face of Provocation ~ Denton-West

The Rivers State governor, Sir (Dr) Siminalayi Fụbara has been commended over his leadership style, “especially his peaceful disposition and that of maturely displaying extreme restraint in the face of obvious provocation and even his calm reaction to the judicial manipulation to shove him out of office.”

A stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Alabo, Sen (Dr) Ngoji Denton-West, made the commendation in a chat with newsmen over the weekend in Port Harcourt.

He said development in the state has not only showcased Fụbara as a democatic leader, focused on good governance, but also exposed the “defected Rivers lawmakers and their master, the controversial FCT Minister Nyesom Wike,” as the aggressors who had parochial interest other than that of their constituents who voted them into office.

Alabo Denton-West pointed out that the footprint the governor has made on the sand of time will always speak for him, adding that “Rivers people and residents are ready to mobilise support for him any day, anytime.”

According to the PDP stakeholder, “From the onset, the lawmakers made up their minds to frustrate or impeach the governor, especially the moment they sensed that it might be difficult to realize the third term ambition and agenda of the FCT Minister as planned through him”.

He appealed to “all men and women of goodwill to condemn the Emergency Rule hoist on Rivers people and plead for the return of their governor to continue his good works in the State.”

The Supreme Council For Sim, World-wide leader said that from all indications, the Wike camp has been scheming for the Emergency Rule since it became difficult for them to impeach him.

He said, “that is why it is important for the security agencies to focus on the real purveyors of violence, critically evaluate these incidences that preceded the pronouncement and diligently undertake investigations to unravel the elements behind the crimes and bring them to justice without key ir hindrance.”

Alabo Denton-West said that “it is clearly untrue as alleged that Governor Fubara who has all the while been preaching peace and non-violence, even in the face of extreme provocations, would be “telegraphing attacks on oil pipelines” and breaching the peace he has worked so hard to promote and sustained for the good of the people of the state. A case of giving a dog a bad name to hang it “; he said.

He further noted that what is happening in the sate is not just about Fubara as a person but about the larger implications for democracy, governance and the will of the people.
