Deacon Parker

Former Governorship Aspirant Blasts Clerics

By John Amaowoh

A governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Architect Deacon Parker, has claimed that the failure witnessed in the church, society and governance is solely attributable to the failure of clerics to teach the right message to their congregations.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, the state capital, Deacon Parker explained that the failure of churches to train their congregations on transformation massages that would pull the minds of their followers into the right message and values has indirectly impacted negatively against the society.

Parker maintained that another essential thing about leadership is that it is anchored on the right values preached by the church and not on half truth as is the case nowadays, where the churches now focus more on salvation, while there are so many ills plaguing the society, and the world at large.

He stressed that what he considered as essential in the service to God is the right attitude and values that is acceptable to God and humanity.

Parker insisted that what is dear to God is the fear of Him, which he said remains the primary admonition by God to all believers, while maintaining that the churches at this point in time must realize that their failure is greatly affecting the society.

Asked what he meant by my people are perishing for lack of knowledge, Deacon Parker responded this way, “Teaching the congregation the kingdom political education, understanding the principles of God and applying the same to the society as is recorded in Hosea.”
