Ex- President Jonathan to Commission Delta’s High Court Complex ~ Osuoza

As part of activities marking the beginning of Delta State governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s second year in office, former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, is to commission the Delta State High Court Complex on Tuesday.

Governor Oborevwori had on May 29, 2024 celebrated the first anniversary of his administration as Delta State’s helmsman, with “a grand, colourful, uplifting and befitting Praise and Worship musical extravaganza, which featured some of the finest Gospel artistes and Music ministers in the country.”

As the state’s Commissioner for Information, Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza, pointed out, “May 29, 2024 also swiftly marked the uninterrupted commencement of the second year of the administration.

“As he (Gov Oborevwori) promised during the glorious Praise and Worship anniversary celebration, Deltans will experience more dividends of democracy and one of the projects which Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is kicking off this second year stretch is the commissioning of a legacy structure which is very close to his heart; the Delta State High Court Complex, Asaba.”

Explaining the importance of the project, Dr Osuoza said “Deltans are very much aware of the unprecedented 38 court cases which Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was subjected to and endured with tremendous psychological mettle.

“This magnificent, five-storey edifice, adorned with 6 conference halls, 6 witness waiting rooms, 6 secretary offices, 6 Court rooms, 6 holding cells, Lawyers Lounge, Judges Lounge, VIP Lounge, Multi-purpose Hall, General Conference Hall, Ceremonial Hall, Chambers, a library, Zoom room, computer laboratory, public and private elevators, registry, canteen, car park and male and female convenience apartments, a 350 KVA generator and paid independent power plant connected to the State Independent Power Plant to supply uninterrupted power to the complex, will serve as a dedicated symbol of the judiciary, as the citadel of hope and bastion for justice for years to come,” he said.

To fully underscore and acknowledge the huge importance of this huge symbol of justice, the Information commissioner said, the state High Court Complex will be commissioned by “our own outstanding, phenomenal, globally adored and universally celebrated national icon of peace and leadership integrity, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), the former President of Nigeria, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has already promised to serve Deltans with humility, in the discharge of the responsibility which Deltans have bestowed on him as their governor. He will continue to work relentlessly to advance and transform Delta State with the MORE Agenda and Deltans will enjoy MORE dividends of democracy as the second year unfolds.

“Sheriff is working, and Deltans are seeing it,” Dr Osuoza said.
