Evwreni Agog as Victorious Ties Knot with Kenneth

The town of Evwreni in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State was a bee hive of activities as family, friends and guests of the families of Evang. Godwin and late Mrs. Patricia Awhin and of Evang. Felix and Mrs. Jelina Omuedjara, both of Evwreni town thronged the St. Paul Anglican Church, Evwreni on Saturday 12, December, 2020 to celebrate the solemnization of holy matrimony of their children, Miss Akpevwoghene Victorious Omuedjara and Mr. Kenneth Marhire Awhin.

In his sermon at the wedding service, Revd Can. G.O.C. Amrevwobrise, advised the couple to be dedicated and active in the church and also to each other in their matrimonial home.

The sermon which he took from the Bible book of Ephesians 5: 21- 33, advised the new couple to always submit to one another in the fear of God. In the same way, the man of God advised the youths in the church to emulate the lives of the couple in their dedication to church activities and to the commandments and laws of God, to shun immorality and prostitution which are today destroying the lives of young people in the society.

Revd. Can. Amrevwobrise concluded his sermon with prayers for the new couple to enjoy the fruits of their labour and abundant blessings for them.

In his speech during the reception which was also held at the church premises, the chairman of the occasion, Evang.  J. A. Agbaghara, told the mammoth crowd that gathered to witness the marriage event that he was the happiest person as he got the news that his two young graduates in the church are marrying in the holy way.

He advised the new couple to always make their love to each other eternal and build the foundation of their new family on the hope of Jesus Christ. The retired headmaster however asked family members and friends to always support the new couple in their new lives.

Expressing appreciation to guests and dignitaries present in the occasion on behalf of Awhin and Omuedjara families, an elder brother to the groom, Dr. Ejiro Awhin, a senior lecturer with the Delta State University, Abraka thanked the priests, family members and guests for finding time to attend the occasion.

Hear him: “In fact, today is a joyous day in our lives as we see our brother and sister joined together in holy matrimony as husband and wife. I’m particularly happy as my younger brother, Mr. Kenneth Awhin is settling down with his lovely wife today. Therefore, on behalf of the two families, we are very much grateful to the priests especially the vicar of the church, Revd. Can. A. O. Agberhe for conducting the wedding service and also for their spiritual and financial support to the new couple.

“My thanks will also go to my brother in-law, Ven. Emmanuel Omuedjara, and all those that accompanied him from the Western Izon Diocese to grace this occasion. I must thank him for his huge support and understanding as a man of God. The same way, I want to thank everybody here present for your gifts presentation and donations to the couple. We are indeed grateful to your show of love and huge support.”

Meanwhile, the traditional marriage, according to the custom and native laws of the Evwreni people, was earlier contracted on Thursday 10, December, 2020 at the Evang. Felix Omuedjara family house in Evwreni town by the Evwreni Marriage Committee.
