The great Evwreni kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State was recently thrown into jubilation as a young business guru, Mr. UnlessGod Obiriene, from Unenurhie community gathered families and friends to pay his wife’s bride price in grand style.
The traditional marital rites which were done on March 14th, 2024 according to the tradition and culture of the Evwreni people in Evwreni town brought together thousands of family members and friends as witnesses. As soon as all the marital rites were fully observed and the stipulated bride price was paid by Mr. UnlessGod Obiriene, a marriage certificate declaring him and Nyerhovwo as a legally married couple was happily presented to them by the Evwreni Marriage Committee.
Thereafter, on Saturday 16th March, 2024, a sumptuous reception was put together by the latest couple, Mr. & Mrs. UnlessGod Obiriene for family members and distinguished guests at the Mariere Primary School playing field, Evwreni town. It was really a moment to behold as the entire playing field was jam-packed with dignitaries and important personalities from different communities across Delta State.
Speaking to our correspondent after household gifts were presented to the couple by guests and family members, Mr. UnlessGod Obiriene who was beaming with contented smiles said, “First and foremost, I and my beloved wife want to thank Jehovah for making today a reality and successful for us. From the day of the traditional marriage to this great day of the reception, we have a lot thank God for.
“Again, I want to graciously thank all my siblings and family members for their uncommon efforts and contributions to the success of this marriage. And to my friends and all guests, they have really shown us exceptional love by their physical presence with us and through their financial support. God will continue to bless them for us,” he prayed.
In his words, a member of the Obiriene family popularly called ‘Peter Pounds’ by friends and business associates who lavishly sprayed on the latest couple, expressed joy over the successful celebration of the marriage event and also thanked all those that graced the occasion.
In the same way, Mr. Oghenekevwe Obiriene, Mr. Spero Obiriene and Mr. Moses Obiriene expressed their warmest gratitude to all guests that graced the occasion especially their people from Unenurhie community ably led by the president-general, Mr. Peter Maison, JP and his other executive members.
The grand reception however ended with the presentation of different household gifts and financial packages to the latest couple, Mr & Mrs UnlessGod Obiriene by family members and guests.
