Chief (Dr) Rufus Ebegba, the DG/CEO of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Abuja, has donated jacky pumps to various communities across the three senatorial districts of Delta State.

The 2023 Delta State APC governorship hopeful donated the jacky pumps to various communities in the state to provide residents with portable water as he described water as a source of life.

While making the donations, Chief Dr. Ebegba said, “Whenever I pay visit to some of the rural communities in the three senatorial districts of the state, I always feel uncomfortable when I see the people trekking long distances to fetch water.

“Water is a source of life to all living things, especially human beings. This is what past and present government of the state failed to provide to the people that voted them into power. It’s very pathetic and pitiable when the people have no access to good drinking water in their communities.”

“This is why I took the pain upon myself to do the little I can to ameliorate the pains of the people in making water available to them. We selected communities from the three senatorial districts to benefit from this first phase and to also create equity and fairness in the process. For example, my paternal community, Evwreni from Delta Central, my maternal community, Owhelogbo from Delta South and Ibrede and Ashaka communities from Delta North were selected for this first phase. For now, these are the four communities that have benefited.

“I’m doing all these as a result of my love for my people so that portable water can be accessible to them. It’s not just because I’m into politics. It’s my usual way of life,” he said.

Chief Dr. Ebegba however admonished community leaders to take good care of the water facilities so that the residents won’t run out of water at any time of the day. He also told the people that, he had done similar projects in communities outside Delta State as he always wished the people comfortable living that is devoid of stress and struggle.

In response, the leaders and populace of the benefiting communities in the three senatorial districts sang the praises of Dr. Rufus Ebegba as he was described as a genuine philanthropist without biased mind against any group of people.

The communities that benefited from the Ebegba water projects are Evwreni community in Delta Central, Owhelogbo community in Delta South and Ibrede and Ashaka communities in Delta North senatorial districts of the state.
