The director-general and chief executive officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Olorogun Dr Rufus Ebegba, has commiseration with the Bedekeremo-Clark Family of Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State and Nigeria, over the death of renowned diplomat, Ambassador Blessing Akporode Clark.
Ambassador Clark’s demise occurred on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Lagos at the age of 92.
In the statement made in Abuja on Friday, July 29, 2022, Dr Ebegba expressed reverence for Ambassador Clark, who he said lived an exemplary life of service and decency.
According to the Biosafety DG, “I extend my sincere condolences to Pa E.K Clark and the larger Bekederemo-Fuludu-Clark family, Delta State and Nigeria, on the passing of an illustrious son, Ambassador Blessing Akporode Clark.
“Ambassador B. A. Clark lived a life of service and was decent in his diplomatic dealings for and on behalf of the Nigerian State.
“His many stations including the United Nations, Africa Union amongst others, where he served creditably, over and above board in his designation as Nigerian Ambassador/Permanent Representative, bear testimonies of the impact of one who was skilled in the art of international politics and diplomacy.
“I mourn his demise and commiserate with Pa E.K Clark, the entire Bedekeremo-Fuludu-Clark Family of Burutu, Delta State, Nigeria and the Diplomatic community”.
Dr Ebegba urged the family he left behind to work towards keeping his legacies, adding that Ambassador Blessing Akporode Clark is worthy of immortalization by the Delta State and Federal Government.
“As I condole his immediate family, I urge them to work towards keeping his lifetime legacies in proper and befitting light.
“In view of his service and positive acclaim that has accrued to Delta State and Nigeria, I therefore urge the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government and the Delta State Government, led by Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to consider and approve measures to immortalize Ambassador Blessing Akporode Clark,” he said.
