President-General of Unenurhie community, Mr. Peter Maison, a PDP chieftain from Evwreni Ward (08) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has called on members of his community to vote en-mass for Olorogun Jaro Egbo, the PDP chairmanship candidate for Ughelli North, and also for the Evwreni Ward councillorship candidate in the July 13 local government elections across the state.
The respected community leader made this call recently at the grand finale of the Ughelli North PDP Campaign held at Oharisi Primary School, Ughelli where the PDP flag was presented to Olorogun Jaro Egbo by the party chairman as the party’s Ughelli North chairmanship candidate in the presence of other PDP leaders from the state and the local government.
Speaking to our correspondent during the political event which drew together PDP members from all the wards in the local government, community leaders, religious leaders, political groups and many political fans of Jaro Egbo, Mr. Maison said, “We are happy today that the PDP campaign for Ughelli North was done as planned and it was peaceful and very successful. Kudos to the Planning Committee and to all our leaders in the party for a job well done.
“As a PDP member from Evwreni Ward and also the President-General of Unenurhie community, I have been campaigning in my community that all the residents as registered voters should vote massively for the PDP in the upcoming local government elections. I’m doing this not just because I’m a community leader; but it’s my personal right to campaign for my party as a member during elections like this. Therefore, I’m again calling on all Unenurhie indigenes and residents to come en-mass to their different polling units on the day of the election and cast their votes for the PDP.”
When asked if Olorogun Jaro Egbo can effectively carry out the functions of Ughelli North chairman if elected, Mr. Peter Maison said, “Olorogun Jaro Egbo will be capable and effective in the administration of the local government if finally elected. I’m saying this, not just to sing his praises to people, but I know he’s a leader with much leadership experience over the years.
“He had held several positions, both in the party and also in government before now. With this experience I have seen in him, I’m deeply convinced that if Olorogun Egbo is elected as the Ughelli North chairman at the end of the day, he will be chairman for all and not just chairman for only PDP members in the local government council. I still want to advise our incoming chairman to always keep to his campaign promises to the people of Ughelli North by standing firmly on the parts of fairness, equity and justice in order to promote the MORE agenda of our dear governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.”
